Aug 6, 2006 - Onboard the flight deck of the US Navy (USN) Aircraft Carrier USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), a USN F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft from Strike Fighter Squadron 27 (VFA-27) launches from the No. 2 catapult, during cyclic flight operations. The KITTY HAWK is currently underway in the Indian Ocean in the 7th Fleet's area of responsibility, demonstrating power projection and sea control as the US Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier.
