Jul 13, 2016 - SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 13, 2016) Cmdr. Adrian Calder, the commanding officer of the "Royal Maces" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, prepares for takeoff in an F/A-18E Super Hornet during a change of command ceremony aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). During the change of command, Cmdr. Daniel Cochran relieved Calder as the new commanding officer of VFA-27. The Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
