The squadron was redesignated VFA-27 on 24 January 1991. On 6 June 1991, the CNO approval was for the modification of the squadron designation in the banner from Attack Squadron 27 to Strike Fighter Squadron 27.

Here are some pics of an R/C model of the last West Coast A-7 that was sent to NAS Millington to be used by students at the Aviation Schools.

I was in VA/VFA-27 from 1988 to 1991. I was the MCO and Acft DivO.

I built this model during this past winter and early spring. I will enter it in several events this summer. It is a pretty accurate rendition of Acft 412 before we sent her away. It flies great. Hope you like it..

1970 - Here is a patch I had made in Japan, the VA27 Chainturion. We only had 10 of these made for the "fixers". If you've ever tripped over a tiedown chain on a dark deck, you know what pain really is!
